Summit would like to share some staggering statistics:
More people have Parkinson’s disease (PD) than multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy,
and Lou Gehrig’s disease – combined.
Parkinson’s disease is second only to Alzheimer’s disease.
Parkinson’s disease has a current rate of occurrence that predicts PD to be the number one neurodegenerative disease in 10 years – if left unchecked.
The biggest risk factor is age. The average age is 60.
Men are more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.
If you have a parent or sibling who is affected, you are 2 times more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.
We are dedicated to changing these statistics.
It has been proven that EXERCISE is the best medicine
for anyone with Parkinson’s disease.

Achieving a Victory Over Parkinson’s is not only about finding the cure, but reinforcing the building blocks that are an essential part of the process in discovering it. Summit for Stem Cell Foundation’s mission is to support, educate and raise awareness about the development of today’s and tomorrow’s evidence based regenerative medicine therapies focused on Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Your participation in this event will help fund crucial programs in education, research and patient support that Summit for Stem Cell Foundation provides to navigate the path to success!
And ALL the Steps After That:
Enjoy knowing that your participation made an
impact towards a Victory Over Parkinson’s!

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES & INFORMATION:
Thank you for your interest in Summit for Stem Cell Foundation’s STEP UP for a Victory Over Parkinson’s virtual fundraiser. We opted for a virtual event to provide supporters around the globe an opportunity to participate. This event is something anyone, anywhere can do in any way they choose. Participation can be solo, with family, with friends, or with a team.
The proceeds from our STEP UP for a Victory Over Parkinson’s will help support Summit’s three crucial programs:
Research Program: Support for new and innovative evidence-based research working towards the cause and/or cure for Parkinson’s.
We are proud to have funded, promoted and launched a highly anticipated regenerative medical research project into the private sector to hasten the project’s path towards FDA approved clinical trials. This stem cell-based therapy aims to turn the clock back on the symptoms of PD.
Today, we are keenly aware that these long-standing questions about Parkinson’s disease remain: “What is the CAUSE of Parkinson’s?” and “What is the CURE for Parkinson’s?”. We are committed to supporting new and innovative evidence-based research working towards these desperately needed answers.
Patient Support Program: Provides current & reliable information to patients about their well-being, new treatments, research discoveries, current news and more. The Patient Support Program also plans to provide Patient Financial Assistance for travel and lodging for patients with financial hardship enrolled in FDA approved clinical trials in or affecting the field of regenerative medicine with a focus on Parkinson’s disease. We feel that neither socioeconomic status nor location should be a reason for preventing someone from participation.
Educational Program: Provides fully accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses with world-class leaders in regenerative medicine as presenters for healthcare professionals – including patients, researchers, students, etc. This program is dedicated to bridging the informational gap between evidence-based science and the patient & medical communities.
In July of 2020, the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) released the results of a poll-question posed to neurologists around the United States. The results were stunning – ONLY 28% of the neurologists polled felt completely prepared to answer their patients’ questions about regenerative medicine. Our Educational Program’s is structured to bridge the gap between fast-paced scientific discoveries and healthcare professionals – including patients. Some past notable guest speakers include:
- Peter Marks, Director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research
- Zubin Master, Ph.D.; Associate Professor of Biomedical Ethics, Biomedical Ethics Research Program and Center for Regenerative Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minnesota
- Jane S. Lebkowski, Ph.D.; President, Regenerative Patch Technologies (RPT)
Another component of our Educational Program is to provide reliable information empowering patients with the ability to separate hope from hype and safely navigate cell-based therapy options. The FDA warns patients seeking alternative treatments about “unproven stem cell therapies”. There are an estimated 1,000+ clinics in the U.S. offering unproven stem cell treatments. We help patients make more educated choices by providing them with knowledge to ask questions and make safe healthcare choices.
Your support can impact 1 million Americans and 7-10 million worldwide struggling daily with Parkinson’s – a disease with unmet medical needs. It is estimated that, if left unanswered, Parkinson’s disease is anticipated to out-pace even Alzheimer’s and become the leading neurodegenerative disease worldwide. Help us find answers for those affected by, and those who will be affected by Parkinson’s.
