ANDRES BRATT-LEAL, Ph.D.
Dr. Bratt-Leal is the Vice President of Research and Development for Aspen Neuroscience, Inc.. He earned his B.S. from the University of Washington and his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech and Emory University in biomedical engineering. His specializes in directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, including the differentiation of iPSCs towards dopaminergic neurons (the cells which are lost in the progression of Parkinson's disease). Prior to Aspen Neuroscience, Dr. Bratt-Leal joined the Loring lab at The Scripps Research Institute in 2012 to work specifically on the autologous dopamine neuron replacement for Parkinson’s disease research project, formerly supported by funding from the Summit for Stem Cell Foundation.
