A little bit about Summit's beginning:

Summit is a unique, proven organization. Highlights include:

    • Raised $4.5 million to advance an autologous stem cell-based research project addressing the symptoms of PD. The Project recently received FDA approval to begin clinical trials late 2023 or early 2024.
        • Opened the Summit Lab specifically for the cell-based therapy’s development.
    • Transferred the research project (with IP license) to a newly founded biotech company in the private sector specifically founded for funding and expediting the cell-based therapy’s journey from bench to bedside. The company is Aspen Neuroscience.
    • Founding partner in SCIS (Stem Cells in Space), a 5 organizational collaborative research project using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) aboard the ISS (International Space Station). Members: Summit, NSCF (National Stem Cell Foundation), NYSCF (New York Stem Cell Foundation), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), and Space Tango.
    • Funding for new and innovative research such as, The Cincinnati Cohort Biomarker Program (CCBP) – under the guidance of Alberto Espay, MD, MSc – from which Summit feels the foundations for “cause and cure” answers for PD could be found.
    • Strong educational program.
    • And, always working towards a Victory Over Parkinson’s for people with PD.
